Coupon Fraud
The Couponing Queens of Delco, do not by any means participate or promote any types of coupon fraud! Coupon Fraud is a crime! It's punishable by hefty fines or in some cases jail time! Coupon Fraud is a form of stealing! Anyone that participates in coupon fraud totally deserves to be brought up on criminal charges. People may ask, why are we so harsh about this topic? The more that participate in this behavior, the harder it will be for us couponers! Stores will get stricter policies, manufacturers will put out less coupons, and cashiers will not be as willing to accepts coupons without having managers overlook every detail! This means, less great deals, and longer wait times for all of us! Plus....plain and simple it is a form of stealing! Is a $1.00 coupon worth criminal charges!
Many coupon newbies don't realize that they are committing coupon fraud when they do it in the beginning. So we would like to briefly educate you on this crime!
Here are just a few examples of coupon fraud:
- The copying of ANY coupon is ILLEGAL! A photocopied coupon is NOT a legit coupon! The manufacturer has printable coupons decoded! They are NOT reimbursed for any copied coupons! You may print the max number of coupons that is allowed for that item which usually is 2, once in a while 4. You may use a different computer and printer to print out more copies, but you can NOT in anyway copy a coupon!
-Altering a store or manufacturer coupon is TOTALLY ILLEGAL!
-Not turning in a coupon that was used on your order is Coupon Fraud! ALWAYS make sure that if your coupon was scanned into the register, that coupon is turned into the cashier or the self check out box! Never walk away with a coupon that was used! Stores must turn them into the manufacturers to be reimbursed for the coupon! This being said, if a cashier leaves one on a register...let her know! If the self scan coupon box is jammed , call someone!
-Coupon misuse, this is a huge one! Especially for those who get good and start memorizing the family coupon codes! Coupons have codes on them, adventually you will learn the codes. If you have already learned the codes then you are aware that some coupon codes are generic for that manufacturer but not a specific brand! Let's say you have that Colgate MaxWhite, Max Fresh, MaxClean coupon and you want to try using it on a Colgate Total Advanced product, even though it will probably scan though, TOTALLY ILLEGAL! That coupon was not intended for the product that you are using it on! Another example, you have a .75 coupon off of Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and the bar code happens to be generic family code so you try using it on a regular box of Cherrios! ILLEGAL! The manufacturer was tring to promote and generate sales for anothr item in their line!
We could go on and on with examples of coupon fraud! However we just wanted to touch the basics on it! Trust us when we tell you that if you are couponing , you are into saving money, therefore you don't want the risk of a fine, or worse jail time! Like the old saying goes "dont do the crime, if you can't do the time"!
This area is cracking down on coupon fraud now that extreme couponing is getting big and becoming a way of life for so many families in this area! AGAIN, we do NOT promote any kind of couponing fraud and won't tolerate any known behavior of it!
There are 330 Billion dollars worth of coupons out there every year. This means there are plenty of coupons for everyone since only about 8 billion dollars worth are used every year! There is NO excuse to particiapte in FRAUD when it comes to coupons! ....NO reason at all!!!!!!!
